Bad, Botched, and Revision Liposuction

What if I have had bad or disfiguring liposuction in the past? This is certainly not an uncommon question when patients come to us for an opinion about corrective liposuction of previous surgery done elsewhere. Liposuction is a very artistic procedure and it takes years to master so it can be easy to have a botched surgery if a reputable and skilled experienced surgeon is not chosen.

Typically between 10-20% of our cases are to correct bad liposuction.

What is Revision Liposuction?

Revision liposuction is much more difficult than a virgin liposuction procedure and takes more time and attention to detail. Many times the procedure requires the use of specialized instruments as well, wether it is a SmartLipo or a Vaser Lipo. At the New York Liposuction Center we are a full service liposuction specialty clinic and therefore have invested heavily in advanced instruments and technology to deal with these more challenging cases.

Many times Dr. Breitbart will combine liposuction, liposhifting, and fat grafting from other areas to correct liposuction defects, lumps, bumps, and irregularities.

For many patients whom have had a poor result with previous liposuction it is very difficult to reach out to another surgeon for correction. Loss of trust, skepticism and depression can all be natural feelings when this happens.
